- (12/09) November
2nd proved to be a very special Meet the Players Dinner. The
speakers, Curt Styres and Benoit Groulx told the guests how important
our Rochester Americans have come to mean to them and how invested
they are in making this team great. Mr. Styres also bestowed
an honor on all of the team, the front office staff and our 40
+ year members by presenting them with an authentic arrow made
in the ancient tradition by his tribe.
Thank you to all of the Booster Club members who
came to this event. Special thanks to Annie and the Carriage
House staff, Enright Florists, Rocky Perrotta, Mike Paz and Doug
Forth. It was great to have a healthy Mike Paz back. Also special
thanks to my helpers; Virginia Paddock, Ann Paddock, Jim Clement,
Betty Grasta, Karen Hutchinson and Donna Voelkl.

- (10/09) Thank
you to all of the folks who came to the Annual Booster Club Picnic
on September 19th. The weather was beautiful; maybe a wee bit
chilly, but we had lots of sunshine. We were entertained by crew
races on the Genesee River and music from a marching band. The
food was great and the company even better. Mary Dibble seemed
to be the champ at washer toss putting Gary Schaeffer and Mike
Petta to shame. Others played Bocce and some of us just sat and
talked. Jim Clement was the grill master cooking the hamburgers
and the red and white hotdogs to perfection. The snacks, salads
and desserts added to the delicious menu. We had a great time.
Thanks again to the 22 people who supported this event.
- Keep
in mind the Meet the Players Dinner. We are waiting to hear from
the Front Office about a possible date for this event. Further
information will be forthcoming. It sounds like it is going to
be an exciting year for the Amerks so you dont want to
miss this event.

Special thanks to Gary Schaeffer and Virginia Paddock for helping
this rookie entertainment chair put this event together.

their team spirit and their commitment in helping the Meet the
Players dinner be an evening full of entertainment and surprises.
- Thanks
also to Ann Paddock, Donna Voekl, Mike & Sherry Petta and
Betty Grasta for all of their help. The Carriage House owner

Report - Jeff Savidge
- (1/08) The 2007
Meet the Players Dinner was held (Nov 26) at The Lodge on the
Green. We had 87 people attend the dinner, along with 35 players
and guests. We were all treated to a great meal and thanks goes
out to the staff at Lodge on the Green.
Rocky Perrotta was once again our Master of
Ceremonies, doing a great job as usual. While Mike Paz provided
lively music throughout the night. Speeches were given by Booster
Club President Jeff Savidge, along with Steve Donner, Randy Cunneyworth
and Captain Drew Larman. Thank you to all of the guest speakers
for their time and laughs that were provided.
After the speeches, it was time to party. The
rookies took the stage and were led by Dan Collins in the "rookie
dance". Thank you to all the rookies who took part in the
Macarena and entertained those in attendance along with their
teammates.
The night of dancing was capped off by the "dollar dance".
A record amount was made this year, with over $200 being raised
for this year's charity which was put towards presents for this
year's adopted Christmas family.
A special thank you goes out to all of those
who helped pitch in to make this one of the best dinners in years.
Also a thank you to the Amerk staff, along with Drew Larman,
and the rest of the players, who made this a night where we were
truly able to "Meet the Players".
Regardless of what happens on the ice, after meeting all the
players, those in attendance will all agree that we have a first
class team.
